Eaton’s CYME is pleased to announce the release of version 9.0 of the CYME Software. Driven by its vast user base, the CYME team pushes the envelope of its best-of-breed power system analysis software with the release of CYME 9.0, the first version of a new generation aimed at supporting utilities in their efforts to align their practices with the climate and clean energy goals of the 21st century. Key new features include:

A unique Load Relief DER Optimization module optimizing energy storage systems as well as dispatchable inverter-based generators to mitigate capacity problems on strategic grid assets.

A new Microgrid Modeling and Analysis modules enabling unprecedented simulations of islanded – but also grid-connected – microgrids.

A revamped Techno-Economic Analysis allowing an easy, intuitive, yet exhaustive financial assessment of concurrent grid projects.

Each year, the CYME Users Group Meeting is proud to offer a one-day engineering course to exchange solutions and best practices among peers. This year, the Monday engineering course will be about “IEEE Standard for Interconnection and Interoperability of Distributed Energy Resources with Associated Electric Power Systems Interfaces”. It will be presented by Dr. Babak Enayati, PhD in Electrical Engineering, an expert in this field. The course will highlight:

Eaton’s CYME is pleased to announce the release of version 7.2 of the CYMCAP Software.

The new version 7.2 continues to extend the capabilities of CYMCAP software through the introduction of new modules and advanced functionalities. The main new features of CYMCAP 7.2 include:

• The Parametric Study add-on module
• Modeling of ducts filled with solid material like bentonite
• Modeling of three-core cable with jacket around each core
• Rating of cables in ventilated tunnel as per the upcoming IEC standard 60287-2-3©
• An option to perform ratings as per IEC standard specific equations rather than general or extended formulae for selected cases
• Updated reports
• A reorganized menu bar
